Researchers from University College London say a series of small earthquakes in Surrey could be the result of oil drilling.

The tremors were recorded between April 2018 and early 2019 near Newdigate.

Oil drilling at the time was taking place around three miles away at Horse Hill before it was stopped due to a legal case.

UKOG, the drilling company, said the British Geological Survey was satisfied the tremors were caused by a fault in the earth.
