High street retailer White Stuff has been taken over in a deal thought to be worth around £50 million.

The clothes shop’s been bought by South African-based The Foschini Group which already owns Hobbs, Whistles and Phase Eight.

Bosses say they want to expand the number of stores across the UK.

White Stuff started life as a concept in 1985 and its first shop opened in Battersea six years later.
