A minute’s silence has been held for a former leader of Richmond Council who passed away last month.

Serge Lourie held the position from 2001 to 2002 and 2006 to 2010 and was a Kew Ward Councillor for nearly three decades.

Councillors, including the 78-year old’s Lib Dem colleagues, fell silent for a minute in the council chambers.

His family has asked for donations in his memory to go to Kingston Hospital or The Avenue Club in Kew.
