38 year old Richard Flower has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for the end of September.
Officers were called to an address in Kenyngton Drive at 6am on Sunday.
A woman, aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital with stab wounds but is now recovering at home.
