A member of the public came across them last Wednesday in the woods off Hare Hill and took them to the RSPCA Millbrook centre.
The 5 week old pups are thought to be bulldogs and staff have named them Reef, Dune, Leo, Splash, Breeze, Ocean, Summer and Coral.
In the summer months, reports of animal abuse increase according to the charity.
Anyone with information on how these puppies came to be abandoned is being urged to come forward.
