The brigade was called to a block of flats in Great Church Lane to reports of a blaze on the fifth floor.
Three adults suffering smoke inhalation were taken to hospital and a woman and child were treated on-scene paramedics.
The fire is believed to have been caused by the “catastrophic failure” of a battery pack on a converted e-bike that was on charge.
