Funding for new trains for the Elizabeth Line has been confirmed and is estimated to add £42 billion to the economy.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan says the project will boost UK manufacturing and support supply chains and jobs around the country.

Ten nine-car Aventra trains are to be built in Derby, with the company Alstom also keeping the maintenance contract until 2046.

The tube line runs through west London from Reading to Shenfield and Abbey Wood.
