Some parents-to-be in Wandsworth are being offered “baby boxes” in what’s being hailed as a first for London.
Young parents, those who have been in care and those who need extra support will get the free package just before their baby is born.
The box contains books and toys to help them bond with their baby through play, reading, singing and counting.
The parents will also be given access to the Family Hub, which is run by staff working in partnership with health and social care experts.
