35 year old Raphael Fakoya was found guilty of three counts of rape, as well as three other counts earlier this year.
Fakoya has been deemed a serious risk to women and will remain on the sex offenders register for life.
The offences relate to an incident that took place at his house in February 2022 with a woman who was known to him.
Detective Constable Jo Cheung who led the investigation to convict Fakoya said: “I hope this conviction and sentencing reinforces the message that the Met is committed to investigating sexual offences and ensuring those who commit such acts are put before the courts to be held to account for their actions.
“The women who Fakoya attacked put her trust in us to listen and support her through this ordeal. We have investigated her claims and now a dangerous sexual predator is being bars. I would urge anyone who has been subjected to sexual abuse to speak to police so you can be supported and any allegations investigated.”
