The pub that was badly damaged in a fire in Mitcham dated back to the 16th century.

The Burn Bullock was a Grade II listed building and had been closed for ten years.

It has interior features which date to the 1500’s and 18th century exteriors.

Mitcham cricket club which is next door to the building said the building had been neglected in recent years.

Four men had to be assessed at the scene, but no serious injuries were reported.

An investigation has been launched.
