A man from Putney is taking on the London Marathon to raise awareness of the health condition his girlfriend suffers from.

28 year old Matt Jackman is running to raise money for charity, Diabetes UK; his partner Sophie Allisett has Type 1.

Diabetes is a condition where there is too much glucose in the blood because the body cannot use it properly.

This year’s 26 miler will take place on Sunday the 21st of April and around 38,000 are due to take part.
