Replying to a ULEZ query in a tweet yesterday, Historic Royal Palaces posted;
“Hampton Court Palace and its car park are within ULEZ, however if you are driving from outside of London into our car park and back out again you will not be seen by the enforcement camera and will not be charged – provided you don’t re-enter the zone.”
However, as regular visitors to the palace will know, left, which is the route around the camera, is the only option upon exiting the car park as there is a no right-hand turn sign.
Hampton Court Palace and its car parks sit within the £12.50 daily charging zone for the most polluting vehicles.
An Historic Royal Palaces spokesperson has told us;
‘Our priority is to continue to provide clear information for visitors, to inform the decisions they make about travel to and from Hampton Court Palace. We will continue to work with TFL to ensure that we provide the most up to date information on this.’
