The 5 days of action by junior doctors follows on from the busiest month of 2023 for the hospital trust.
Around 880 people visited either St George’s, Epsom or St Helier’s emergency departments daily in June, which is 10% more than usual.
The strike is also the first time this year that a walk out by junior doctors has taken place over the weekend and into a Monday.
