It’s understood London Irish are likely to be suspended from the rugby union Premiership today – as a proposed takeover’s unlikely to be approved before a 5pm deadline

A US-based consortium is yet to provide proof it has funds to buy the club, and it could yet fall into administration.

The RFU has found serious financial woes at the Sunbury-based club, and saw that players weren’t paid in April.

Players are believed to be making contingency plans for the next campaign.
