A rescue puppy from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is hoping to become a part of medical history.

Chilli is being trained to become one of only a handful of dogs in the world able to detect a lung infection called pseudomonas aeruginosa.

He’s passed all of his assessments and is now being trained to identify the specific odour of the disease by Medical Detection Dogs.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a major cause of lung damage in people with cystic fibrosis and is multi-drug resistant.
