500 new trees are in the process of being planted across Merton.

The council says the programme is a key element of its Tree Strategy to help fight climate change.

Around 250 trees were added to Merton’s green spaces and parks last planting season.

A milestone 10,000 trees were planted over 12 months in 2022 and 2023.
