Wallington-based Anisa first discovered kabaddi at 19 while studying at the London School of Economics, having never played the sport before.

By her third year, she was president of the university’s kabaddi society and had been selected to represent England.

Having previously competed at the European Championships in Cyprus, she’s now been chosen as England captain and is preparing to compete in India, where the sport originated and enjoys a huge following.

Away from the sport, Anisa is the founder of Bombay Pizza, an Indian-inspired pizza brand she started as a side hustle alongside her graduate job at Accenture.

She has since grown it into a seven-figure business, reached the final of BBC One’s The Apprentice in 2025 and is now expanding through franchising and its nationwide Pizza By Post offering.

Anisa has been talking to Jackie’s Chloe Norman, and you can listen here.
