25,000 people in Hounslow are living in areas of “high deprivation” according to the council’s annual public health report.

It says these residents face higher smoking rates, less access to health services, depression and lower rates of vaccination.

Young carers, asylum-seekers and homeless people are most at risk.

The council says it will deploy roving vaccination programmes and actively promote stop smoking services.

It will also create trauma-informed training for asylum seekers and increase awareness of free health services in the borough.
