It also found that 47% of all 500 respondents were not confident in stepping in if they witnessed street harassment.

1 in 5 men have also been targeted according to the findings.

Surrey County Council has launched what it’s calling a preventative street harassment campaign to tackle the issue.

It will take it’s messaging from The Home Office ‘Enough’ campaign that highlights different forms of violence against women and girls.

It will also look to build confidence among residents so they can take action if they ever witness harassment.
