Young’s has agreed to a £162 million deal to buy London-based rival City Pub Group.

The move brings a further 50 pubs into the Wandsworth based company taking its total estate to 279.

That makes it one of the biggest operators in the capital.

It comes at a challenging time for the industry, with high borrowing costs and tighter customer budgets.
