This road is one of the borough’s busiest cycle and bus routes according to Wandsworth Council.

From next Monday, the 9th of March util Friday, the 20th of March, Wandsworth Council will resurface the section of the road between Chelsea Bridge and Queens Circus.

Works will take place overnight on weekdays (8.30pm–5.30am) except for resident access which will be maintained, with the road reopening early each morning and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

The resurfacing marks one of the final pieces of the Queenstown Road corridor scheme upgrade, which has included significant pedestrian and cycling safety improvements.

The council says the existing carriageway was in poor condition and “completing the resurfacing now will significantly improve the safety and journey for all road users.”

Jenny Yates, Cabinet Member for Transport said: “This resurfacing is the final step in our ambitious improvements to Queenstown Road and part of our wider Decade of Renewal investment in Wandsworth’s streets. We’re carrying out the works at night to minimise daytime disruption. Thank you to residents and businesses for your patience as we deliver these lasting improvements for Battersea.”
