Works on a new street-level pedestrian crossing on Wellesley Road will start construction next month.

Croydon Council will replace the closed underpass to better link East Croydon station and the town centre.

Part of a £30m regeneration plan, the crossing aims to boost local businesses and be ready for Christmas, pending TfL approval.

It is one of five projects under Mayor Jason Perry’s vision to improve Croydon’s town centre and attract more visitors and investment.
