Works are under way to improve the area around a major junction in Tooting.

The work at Tooting Broadway and Amen Corner is the first phase of a package of improvements being made by Wandsworth Council.

The aim is to make the area’s streets and public spaces cleaner, greener and safer.

Pavement repairs will take place along nearby Mitcham Road to tackle uneven surfaces.

There will also be jet washing, drainage to reduce flooding and street lights will be replaced.

The works are part of a £1.35m to accelerate improvements across Wandsworth.
