The billionaire owner of New York Jets and former US ambassador to the UK has been in talks to acquire 43 percent of the FA Cup winners for some time.
The deal, subject to Premier League approval, is believed to be worth more than 190 million pounds.
It should bring confirmation within days that they will take their place in the Europa League for the first time in their history.
