The University of Surrey’s School of Veterinary Medicine will fund two four-year scholarships with the Horserace Betting Levy Board.
The focus will be on rehoming retired racehorses and tackling lung bleeding that affects some of them during meetings.
The research aims to improve both racehorse wellbeing and the future of equine veterinary care.
