Undercover police are wearing luxury watches as bait to catch criminals red-handed – and they say it’s driving down the number of robberies.

The sting operations, one carried out by officers in Chelsea, come after several celebrities were victims of jewellery theft.

300 watches worth a combined total of around £4 million were stolen across three boroughs in the capital over a 6 month period in 2022.
