Two Victorian-era fingerposts in Spelthorne have been restored by the community after falling into disrepair.

The old-style signposts were originally made in Chertsey in 1900 by the Herring & Son iron foundry.

They are located at Littleton Road in Ashford and Dockett Eddy Lane in Shepperton.

To ensure the fingerposts’ authenticity, measurements were taken from an original finger housed at the Surrey Heath Museum.
