He and partner Dan Evans saved two match points before winning their second round men’s doubles tie at the Paris Olympics.
The match was against Belgium duo Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen.
There was also a victory for Katie Boulter and Heather Watson in the women’s doubles.
They beat German’s Angelique Kerber and Laura Siegemund to make the last-16.
