He and partner Dan Evans saved two match points before winning their second-round men’s doubles tie at the Paris Olympics.
The match was against Belgium duo Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen.
There was also a victory for Katie Boulter and Heather Watson in the women’s doubles.
They beat German’s Angelique Kerber and Laura Siegemund to make the last-16.
