40-year-olds Bill Smith (pictured) and Joe McCarthy from Carshalton pleaded guilty to multiple offences.
The pair targeted a house in Banstead, breaking in whilst the owners were asleep, and stole a wallet, car keys and the car.
The stolen car was later recovered, partially burnt out and abandoned, in Carshalton.
