Tolworth based giant Lidl has overtaken Aldi to be named the UK’s cheapest supermarket for the first time in almost two years.

The latest monthly analysis by Which? compared the average cost of a basket of 76 everyday items across eight major supermarkets.

Asda remains the cheapest option for a bigger weekly shop.

Lidl topped the chart for small basket prices.
