There are currently more than 8,000 people on the waiting list in need of an organ transplant.

NHS Blood and Transplant also says more than 400 people have died in the last year because they have been unable to have one.

Robin Hutchinson, a community fundraiser from Surbiton received a kidney from his son, Ross, in January last year.

He’s urging each one of us to consider becoming a living organ donor.

This week is national organ donation week.
