The UK could have its warmest day of the year for the second day in a row later, with temperatures of up to 33 degrees Celsius expected.

Yesterday marked the hottest day of the year so far, with Kew Gardens recording a peak of 32.2°C.

The UK Health Security Agency’s issued an amber heat-health alert for the whole of England, which is in force until 9am on Monday.

It warns health services about a probable rise in demand because of the high temperatures, particularly among the elderly.
