The Royal tradition of “swan upping” has begun on the River Thames at Sunbury.

The annual event sees swan numbers counted and recorded.

Swan Upping has changed from a mostly ceremonial event to an important element of wildlife conservation.

This will be King Charles’s first in his role as monarch.
