The honour celebrates the centenary of Poland regaining its independence.
It’s been handed to the council in reflection of the borough’s close ties with the Polish community.
The white eagle symbol of Poland already forms part of the borough’s official civic regalia.
It caps a year in which the council’s Polish centre ‘POSK’ was visited and toured by the King.
Located in 246 King Street, it develops and celebrates all strands of Polish culture.
