The parents of a 7-year-old boy killed during flooding in Chertsey are calling on the Prime Minister to “stand by his promise.”

Zane Gbangbola would have turned 18 today and his parents will deliver a special ‘birthday’ card to Sir Keir at No 10 Downing Street.

They’ll ask him to grant an Independent Panel Inquiry into the cause of their son’s death.

Kye and Nicole say this is a promise repeatedly given by Sir Keir.

The River Thames burst its banks in the early hours of February the 8th 2014.

A coroner ruled Zane died from carbon monoxide from a petrol-powered pump used to clear flood water.

But his parents maintain floodwater caused an historic landfill site nearby carrying Hydrogen Cyanide to overflow which poisoned him.

They have spent the last decade campaigning for an Independent Panel Inquiry into their son’s death.
