The pace of improvement in Croydon has moved up a gear.

That’s the conclusion of an independent report to government.

Croydon Council first declared itself bankrupt in 2020 and was given a central government bailout loan.

It needs to pay £47million each year to meet the £1.6billion debt.

Croydon’s Mayor, Jason Perry says “there is still much to do following the mismanagement under the previous administration.”
