That’s according to snapshot data from the Department for Transport.

Wandsworth Council says traffic has been exacerbated by the ongoing closure of nearby Hammersmith Bridge.

The Grade II listed structure was shut to vehicles in 2019 following safety concerns.

Wandsworth Council’s own automatic traffic count data shows a 25% increase in traffic during the morning peak hours between 2019 and 2023.

The council is calling for more transparency over the bridge’s repair process.

It has also part-funded the University of Roehampton shuttle bus to serve all residents in the southwest of the borough.

The Department for Transport says it has provided £13million of funding towards the project to date.

It says it is continuing to work closely with Transport for London and Hammersmith and Fulham Council on the repairs.
