The number of learner drivers with a future test booking has reached a new high, as more slots are being made available to tackle the backlog.

Test centres like Croydon, Morden and Staines are reporting some of the longest waiting times in South West London.

Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency figures show over 668,000 UK learners had a practical driving test booked by the end of September.

That’s up 15% on a year earlier.
