The government has announced the investment to help boost arts venues, museums, libraries and the heritage sector.
The cash will be targeted at organisations in urgent need of financial support to keep them up and running.
Overall, the sector supports 666,000 jobs across the country.
The London Museum of Water and Steam in Brentford has been given £2.6 million.
