The housing secretary has met with the country’s biggest construction companies to discuss Labour’s plans to build 1.5 million homes.

Steve Reed, who is also the MP for Streatham and Croydon North, wants to seek their views on the government’s proposed planning reforms.

He also wants to discuss how the market is looking.

Executives from Persimmon, Taylor Wimpey, and the Royal Town and Planning Institute are set to attend today’s roundtable.
