The FA’s Chief Executive Mark Bullingham says new England manager Thomas Tuchel was the outstanding candidate across the recruitment process.

The ex Chelsea boss has become the third non Englishman to be appointed in the role and will begin his job in January.

Bullingham’s been criticised for not appointing a home grown coach but he insists Tuchel is the best person to help them win the World Cup.
