The Duke of Northumberland is attempting to replace allotments with new homes on his Syon House London estate.

The Duke lost an application in October 2021 to build 80 flats on part of his Grade I listed Syon Park estate.

But the council received more than 900 objections from locals to the plans.

A planning inquiry now follows an appeal by the development company. Closing submissions are due to be made in September.
