The British Museum’s raised £3.5 million to secure a gold pendant linked to Henry the Eighth and his first wife Catherine of Aragon.

It launched a fundraising campaign back in October after the 16th-century Tudor Heart was discovered in Warwickshire.

£350,000 came from public contributions.

Experts note that pieces like this would have been worn at court, including at Hampton Court Palace.

British Museum director Nicholas Cullinan says it’s a significant find.
