The allowances paid to councillors in Wandsworth is going up.

The authority says they had fallen to a level “significantly lower in real terms” than in 2013, following a 10-year freeze.

All councillors will see an uplift in their allowances worth just over 4% which the council says is still “well below” inflation.

A report to councillors from the Director of Finance states that the changes can be fully funded from existing budgets.
