Thames Water’s consultation on plans for a water abstraction site at Teddington Lock are now out to the public.

The Direct River Abstraction scheme would allow the company to draw water from the Thames during times of drought.

It would be replaced with treated waste water from nearby Modgen sewage works.

Myles Rawstron-Rudd from Thames Water says the project is trying to get ahead of a looming water shortfall.

The consultation ends on August the 26th.
