Temperatures have peaked at Heathrow and in Chertsey.

Today is the hottest day of the year so far, with “well above average” temperatures according to the Met Office.

The highest so far has been 21C in Northolt beating the previous hottest day of the year of 19.7C, set earlier this month.

Cardiff, Heathrow, Chertsey and St James’s Park in Central London all recorded temperatures higher than 20C.
