The council is partnering with charity, Parkinson’s UK across the next year.

It will also formally mark World Parkinson’s Day on April the 11th with a dedicated awareness event.

Around 1 in 37 people in the UK will be diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in their lifetime.

The progressive neurological condition affects movement and can also impact mental and physical health.

It’s characterised by the degeneration of nerve cells in the brain, particularly those producing dopamine, which is crucial for movement control.

Parkinson’s disease has been in the news recently following the death of rocker, Ozzy Osbourne at the age of 76.
