Sutton Council is getting tough on rogue landlords to ensure tenants living in private rented housing live in good conditions.

The Council will now start a three-month consultation on a scheme to licence all the borough’s Homes in Multiple Occupation.

This would make sure that they are safe, well-managed, and provide good-quality basic facilities.

Where offences are proved, the Council can issue fines or prosecute.
