Surrey’s six Lib Dem MPs have requested an emergency meeting to tackle the crisis in Special Educational Needs provision in the County.

The MPs, including Epsom & Ewell’s Helen Maguire, have written to Surrey County Council Leader Tim Oliver.

The Council has come under fire for unduly shortening the deadline parents have to decide on their child’s placement preferences.

Maguire has criticised the Council’s record on helping the vulnerable in society as a “total disgrace”.
